2-Day Tanzania Safari: Tarangire & Ngorongoro — ready to book?
Tell us your travel dates and group size. We will send a full itinerary and confirmed pricing.
A 2-day safari is the most compact way to experience Tanzania's northern parks without missing the highlights. Day 1 takes you into Tarangire National Park — Tanzania's elephant park, known for large herds and giant baobab trees — for a full afternoon game drive and overnight inside the park. Day 2 moves to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for a full crater floor game drive, including the best chance in Tanzania of seeing black rhino. Both parks in two days: a tight but genuinely rewarding introduction to the northern circuit.

After breakfast, depart Moshi for Tarangire National Park (approximately 3 hours). Arrive at the park gate, complete entry formalities, and begin an afternoon game drive through the park's baobab-studded landscape. The Tarangire River is the dry season magnet for wildlife — elephant herds of 50 or more, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, and an exceptional variety of birds. Overnight at a mid-range tented camp inside or adjacent to the park. Dinner at camp.
Early morning departure from Tarangire for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater (260 sq km, 600 m deep) for a full morning game drive on the crater floor. The crater supports all of the Big Five and one of Africa's last viable black rhino populations. Lion prides, spotted hyena, flamingos on the soda lake, and large elephant bulls are regular sightings. Picnic lunch inside the crater. Ascend the crater rim and drive back to Moshi, arriving late afternoon.
