The Materuni Waterfalls day trip is the most popular single-day excursion from Moshi. It begins with a guided tour of a working Chagga coffee farm on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro - following the coffee cherry from plant to cup with a local family guide explaining each step of the process. After the farm visit, a traditional Chagga lunch is served at the homestead. The afternoon hike into the Kilimanjaro National Park forest leads to the Materuni waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls on the mountain, which drops into a natural pool surrounded by forest. The full day runs approximately 6-8 hours from Moshi, with a vehicle pickup from your hotel.
