The Chemka Hot Springs, also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs, are a natural geothermal pool about 90 minutes southwest of Moshi. The water is warm, exceptionally clear, and fed by underground springs that maintain a consistent temperature year-round. The pool is set in a palm tree grove, which gives it an unusually lush and sheltered character for semi-arid terrain. The main activities are swimming, floating, and relaxing in and around the pool - this is not a hiking day trip. A picnic lunch is taken at the springs. The trip suits travellers who want a relaxed, scenic day out rather than a physically demanding excursion, and is particularly well suited to families or to anyone arriving before or after a Kilimanjaro climb who wants an easy recovery day.
